Coming Home
The plan for Jason and Kathryn Brandes was always to move back to Winnipeg once their daughter reached school age. Winnipeg was still their home, even after 8 years in Toronto. In their minds, this inevitable move was a few years away.
Everything changed when Kathryn was diagnosed with cancer. After her surgery and slow but successful recovery, a move back to Winnipeg became a top priority. With that decision made, the planning process began that would ultimately result in Kathryn and Jason quitting their corporate jobs in Toronto and moving back to Winnipeg to open 9 Boutique.
Why a maternity store? During their time in Toronto, many of Kathryn and Jason's friends from Winnipeg came through town specifically to purchase their entire maternity wardrobe. It was obvious that these shoppers could not find what they were looking for in Winnipeg.
9 Boutique's mission is to present an ample selection of fashion-forward, yet amazingly comfortable maternity clothing that will satisfy Winnipeggers to shop at home.
